Home Energy Conservation: Use Less. Do More.

When your home consumes less energy, it frees up money for other things in life. That’s why Enbridge Gas Distribution is proud to deliver the Home Energy Conservation (HEC) Program in partnership with the Government of Ontario. This Program makes it easy and affordable for you to improve the energy efficiency of your home, lower your energy bills, and lessen your home’s impact on the environment.

If you heat your home with natural gas, propane, oil, wood or electricity you could lower your energy bills and earn an incentive of $1,600 through the Enbridge Gas Home Energy Conservation Program. And for a limited time, receive additional electric incentives. Visit knowyourenergyscore.ca for program details and qualifications.

STEP 2
PRE-RETROFIT ENERGY AUDIT

An energy audit is an assessment of your home’s current energy use.

Your energy audit will reveal areas where you can make improvements (retrofits) to improve your home’s energy efficiency, in turn helping you save money. You must use one of the Certified Energy Auditors (CEAs) approved by Enbridge Gas Distribution.

INCENTIVE: ENBRIDGE WILL PAY $150 OF THE $350 PRE-RETROFIT ENERGY AUDIT COST. (HST IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS COST.)

STEP 3
UPGRADES

Implement a minimum of 2 of the following recommended qualified energy upgrades. The energy auditor will advise which measures will need to be upgraded to achieve 15% fuel savings in order to qualify for the Enbridge incentive.

Which upgrades should you focus on?

The HEC Program offers a number of upgrades that you can commit to for your retrofit. But which ones off you the best bang for your buck? To get the highest return on your investment for the lowest price, focusing on insulation is your best bet. Recommended upgrades are: Attic Insulation Upgrade, Basement Wall Insulation Upgrade, Wall Insulation Upgrade, Exposed Floor Insulation, and Air Sealing.

To help you offset the cost of the recommended upgrades, be sure to check out the available incentives offered by Enbridge in step 4.

STEP 4
POST-RETROFIT ENERGY AUDIT

By getting a post-retrofit energy audit, you’ll be able to compare your improved energy rating against the energy rating your home was given prior to making retrofits. It’ll be proof that your energy efficiency upgrades have made a difference.

Please note: To find out if you can reach 15% fuel savings (natural gas, oil, propane or wood), a pre and post home energy audit is required by an Enbridge pre-approved Certified Energy Auditor (CEA).
